Cutting Board Class Fall 2017
This is a great class for students looking for an introduction to our facilities and to working with wood in general. This class also counts toward safety certification on some of our more advanced equipment, for use during Open Shop Hours. Students go home with a cutting board and experience milling wood from rough lumber, using most of the tools in the woodshop.
Open to all skill levels.
No Prerequisites.
"My friends often refer to me as the Black Martha Stewart, but I prefer to go by Shalon. I will co-sign on the fact that I am creative spirit, and I love a good material transformation, whether it's flour, sugar and butter, wood and metal, fabric and thread, or just a coat of paint...I love it all.
"Through personal projects and several humanitarian trips to the South to rebuild New Orleans and the surrounding areas after Hurricane Katrina, I've gained experience in building and developed an affinity for power tools."
WOO is a non-profit safe space for training underrepresented genders in our field. As such, enrollment is limited to women and gender non-conforming folks over the age of 18.
