A Workshop of Our Own turns 8 years old this year! Since April 21, 2017, we’ve built a home for women and nonbinary makers to learn, grow, and build confidence through woodworking.

Just yesterday, April 20th, in our *new* location, students were milling wood for their first tables—a moment that reminds us how far we’ve come and how much we still have to build.

But we need your help.

Our longtime fiscal sponsor is shutting down unexpectedly. To keep going, we’re becoming our own independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. That means transferring our insurance, our lease, our finances—everything—into WOO’s name. It’s a huge and sudden administrative lift and it comes with real costs.

Last year, we raised an amazing $9,900, but that fell short of our goal— so we need to make up the gap and fund this critical transition.

Our next goal: Raise $20,000 by the end of April 2025.
