Have you always wanted to be a sawyer? Now's your chance to try it out. Day 2 of our Tree Milling workshop is open to people of all genders, 18 years and older.
Cutting a log into planks is no small feat, but instructors Larissa Huff and Elisabeth Arzt, with chainsaws and portable mill, will take students through the process of assessing a fallen tree, stabilizing it, problem solving the tree's quirks as well as those of the terrain around it, cutting away unwanted parts, milling its trunk into planks, and stacking them correctly to dry and season.
On the weekend of June 29-30 2019, we will be milling a giant, 100s year old beech tree.
