The sculptural bangle is a project that teaches students to sculpt wood using basic tools. Students can expect to learn the basics of the drill press and the bandsaw, and develop skills in manipulating surfaces using hand tools. Students will begin with a solid block of wood and use a hole saw on the drill press to create an arm hole. They will then use the bandsaw and hand tools to form and shape their bangle followed by sanding and finishing. Students will leave class with a finished bangle that makes a great gift or prized personal accessory.
All skill levels welcome. No prerequisites.
Class Schedule: Sunday Nov 2: 10am-1pm

The bandsaw box is a fun project that introduces students to the properties of wood, and to one of the most versatile woodworking machines: the bandsaw.
Students will begin with a solid block of wood, cut it apart on the bandsaw, and glue it back together to create a small lidded box, but this process will also involve designing, shaping with hand tools (and on the bandsaw,) and finishing and surface decoration.
By the end of this course, students will walk away with a finished box that's as fun and sculptural as it is functional.
